Regent Admission Index (RAI) Worksheet

Iowa State University, University of Iowa, University of Northern Iowa

Students from Iowa high schools must have a Regent Admission Index (RAI) score of at least 245 and take the minimum number of required high school courses to qualify for automatic admission to Iowa State University, the University of Northern Iowa, and the University of Iowa. Students who achieve a score less than 245 will be considered for admission on an individual basis.

The index combines four factors that strongly predict success at Regent Universities:

ACT composite score, high school class rank, high school cumulative GPA, and the number of completed high school core courses.

Step 1 - Multiply your ACT Composite Score times 2                                                            ____________

Step 2 - Write down your current high school Class Rank as a percentile                             ____________

For example, you rank 5th out of 100, your rank is 95

Use the rank listing in (    ) on the last line of your transcript.

Step 3 - Multiply your current GPA times 20                                                                         ____________

            Example: A high school GPA of 3.100 x 20 = 62.00

Refer to the WHS Core Course Chart below to find the TOTAL of your Core Units:
