PTA’s 2007-2008 Accomplishments

· attended the PTA National Convention in St. Louis, Missouri

· sponsored a free fall Family Fun Night at the Matrix outdoor

movie theatre

· had a fundraiser and awarded students with savings bonds

and gift cards

· sponsored a free spring Family Fun Night – dance, trivia,

R.I.F. book distribution

· provided healthy snacks for the Women’s Health Fair at

the elementary school

· provided healthy snacks for ITBS testing

· honored all school support staff during American

Education Week with free apples

· provided teachers with dinner during parent/teacher

conferences

· provided PTA information packets during Kindergarten

Day

· sponsored Carni-Ball with lots of carnival games,

inflatables, and snacks

· attended the Iowa PTA Convention in Altoona, Iowa

· attended and provided $1000 toward the Senior Etiquette

Luncheon at St. Ambrose

· donated $250 to the summer reading program at the

public library during D.E.A.R./National Library Week

· donated $150 to the elementary media center and $150 to

the high school media center in honor of PTA Teacher

Appreciation Week

· donated $1000 to the Post Prom Committee

· funded $187.50 toward the 1^st/2^nd grade & 1^st grade

Putnam Museum field trip

· funded $138 toward the 1^st/2^nd grade & 2^nd grade Niabi

Zoo field trip

· funded $279 toward the 3^rd/4^th multi-age & 4^th grade

IMAX field trip

· funded $175 to the 6^th grade field trip to the Putnam

Museum

· donated $132 to the 7^th grade ice skating field trip

· provided $160 to the 8^th grade Washington D.C. trip for

PTA babysitting services

· donated $320 to the 9^th grade field trip to the Putnam

Museum

· funded $400 toward the elementary school Author visit

· donated $830 to the high school choir trip to Florida

· donated $300 toward the magnetic school calendars

· selected a PTA Teacher of the Year and honored with a

certificate and perpetual plaque

· awarded $3000 in PTA Scholarships
