PTA's Mission

PTA Mission

1 - to support and speak on behalf of children and youth, in schools, the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children

2 - to assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children

3 - to encourage parent and public involvement in this nation's public school system

PTA Promotes:

the education, health and safety of children and families

Why PTA?

1. PTA's get results - over 30 years of research shows that kids do better when parents are involved - grades are higher, test scores improve, attendance increases

2. PTA's keep parents informed - parents can understand challenges that schools face and become part of the solution

3. PTA's improve children's well-being - they focus on what students need to be successful in their learning - proper nutrition and safe and healthy environments

4. PTA's can help schools fulfill parent involvement requirements in the law known as No Child Left Behind (NCLB)
