Standards are general statements that identify what information students should know/understand or what skills/processes they should be able to do as a result of their educational experience. Wilton Community School District standards are based on content learning standards compiled by Iowa school districts and aligned to national standards documents.

Benchmarks describe what students should know and be able to do at developmental levels to attain the standards. Content may include the topics, units, resources, activities, etc used to meet the standards and benchmarks.
